I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me !... Phil 4:13

Thursday 17 December 2015

Today we performed our Christmas play for different classes. The kids were wonderful. I will post  the entire performance for those parents who were unable to attend.

Tuesday 15 December 2015

The Christmas season is here. As part of the celebrations as well as our religion, art and drama curricula, our class has been preparing for a school performance of a play called “The Not So Silent Night”. It is a comical contemporary re-telling of the Christmas story. Students have been hard at work, creating sets and costumes, rehearsing lines and preparing for all aspects of the production.  We have a dress rehearsal tomorrow at 8:00 am.
If you can make it, you are invited to come see the fruits of their labours, in front and behind the scenes. We have three shows in Thursday afternoon:

12:55-1:15 PM
1:15-1:35 PM
2:30:2:50 PM
What to Wear: Students should bring their costumes.
Thank you for your support of this endeavor. Public performances of this type are an important part of a child’s musical, artistic and social education.
 Sincerely,

M. Babb

GEOGRAPHY

Canada was settled by European explorers and traders.

Traders traded with the Aboriginal peoples They wanted things like fur and lumber to sell back in Europe.
They settled close to rivers or lakes because
- they wanted fresh water sources
-They wanted to be close to transportation routes (ships) to Europe

Canada was settled in 3 stages
- Forts
-Farms
-Towns

Some  towns became ghost towns when the single product disappeared. Single economy towns are towns where people made their money from one product

Towns with diversified economy are towns where money is made from many different businesses or industries.

Multicultural towns are towns where people from many different cultural backgrounds live together.

Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world.

There are 3 different patterns of settlement.
Linear
Scattered
Clustered

Water is the universal solvent- most substances dissolve in it.

We need water to live. It helps carry substances around our bodies.

SCIENCE

MATTER-  anything that takes up space and has mass

CHEMISTRY- the study of matter and its changes

SCIENCE

Today, the grade seven began their study on Substances.
We learned about the particle theory of matter.

 Particle Theory states that:
 1. All matter is made up of tiny particles.
 2. All particles of one substance are the same.
 3. Different substances are made of different particles.
 4. Particles are always moving. (The more energy, the faster they move)
5. There are attractive forces between particles. (Forces are stronger when particles are closer together)
