I agree with Chico because Panem is America that got destroyed by natural disasters. In Panem most districts are poor. So I think Katniss is scared of Panem cause of the Hunger Games which is a reality show for Panem. I also think she's worried because she has to feed her family because they are poor so they can't afford that much food so she has to put her life at risk to feed her mom and sister
I agree for the most part with you Peanuts except for one thing. You stated that Katniss saw Panem as a country of hope. I don't quite understand why exactly she sees it as hopeful considering as you mentioned, the Capitol is sending children from Panem into a fight to the death in an arena.
I disagree with Sanjay because Katniss wouldn't be scared of Panem if she has lived there her whole life. If she was scared she wouldn't of voluntered for Prim. Maybe she is just worried that she won't come back and no one will care for Prim and her mom.

I think that Katniss feels angry and discontent because the Capitol is treating those who live on the outskirts (those who live in the twelve districts) as if they are their slaves. Those in the districts literally live to serve the wealthy that live in the Capitol. In Katniss' district (District 12) her father died in a coal mine, mining for the sake of those who live in the Capitol. She probably feels like those in her district are working for others who are able to live a perfect life while they are left to starve and as it mentioned in the first chapter, everything they live in is coated in a layer of coal dust. My point is, is that Katniss probably feels upset and at most furious that she is being forced to live in poverty while the fruit of her labour is used to assist those who don't need it.

I agree because it's just so unfair that the Capitol is living in never-ending luxury while literally everyone around them is in terrible conditions. It's almost as if they are mocking the outlying districts by setting up this way of arrangement for themselves.

I think Katniss feels hatred towards the country of Panem because, she lives in one of the worst districts to live in, while the Capitol is so luxurious and fancy. Katniss has to hunt for her food and feel the pain that her family is feeling. And this is all because of the rules in Panem.

Katniss hates the country Panem because of how there are 12 districts and the one that she lives is one of the poorest districts. I think Katniss can be a bit of a Hippocrate if you think about it we all call her brave and strong but how strong is she really? She cares so much about her family and she has so much hate for the Capitol why doesn't she speak up or do something. Wow Emma. I never thought of things that way before, but you have a really good point about Katniss. I agree because it's true that Katniss is being Hippocratic. If she is so strongly hating the Capitol, then the Capitol has equal right to hate her back.

The Capitol is almost like the ruler of all districts, if I were in the Capitol I would want to open up the districts and work together to live up their lives to the fullest before the world comes to end.
Katnis Is a person who lived in district 12. It was a poor place. Katnis was a brave girl and she always protected her family. Katnis always hunted for food. District 12 was mining. Katnis had to mine under ground. The hunger games came and prim (katnis sister) got picked but katnis volonteered for prim. She never gave up.
I agree because if it did, what if some of us got into the better place like the Capitol and the rest of us got into the districts instead. How sad would that be?!
If I was in Katniss shoes I honestly don't know how I would survive. First her dad died in a coal mine and she has to brake the rules to get food for her family to stay alive. ReplyDeleteThe Capitol is almost like the ruler of all districts, if I were in the Capitol I would want to open up the districts and work together to live up their lives to the fullest before the world comes to end.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because, the 12 districts supply the Capitol with things like jewelery.
DeleteKatnis Is a person who lived in district 12. It was a poor place. Katnis was a brave girl and she always protected her family. Katnis always hunted for food. District 12 was mining. Katnis had to mine under ground. The hunger games came and prim (katnis sister) got picked but katnis volonteered for prim. She never gave up.

ReplyDeleteIf I was in Katniss shoes I honestly don't know how I would survive. First her dad died in a coal mine and she has to brake the rules to get food for her family to stay alive. I really don't like the Hunger Games because it a death sentence. The Hunger Games is for the capitol to get entertained and to see a show when people get killed to be the last one alive.- Julianna
