The Fur Traders

-Fur Trading was a very important business in New France
-Canada was full of fur bearing animals.
- Aboriginal People (trappers and hunters) traded fur for other supplies (e.g hatchets and metal pots) .
Fur was in great demand in Europe because Beaver hats were fashionable.
Fur trading was regulated/ controlled by the King
-His Company called the Company of the Hundred Associates licensed people who could legally trade with the Aboriginal Fur traders.
