Religion Paragraph

                      One of St. Cecilia's Miracles

What I learned about St. Cecilia was that she lived through tough times.  She was a roman women living in a non catholic community.  So she had to hide her religion from many people because mostly everybody was protestant and if you were catholic and you got caught, you would be beheaded.  There was a symbol that signifies her Catholicism and that was the fish.  When people saw the fish they thought it was just a regular fish on a piece of paper or cloth, but to catholics it meant that they were catholic and were wondering where and when was the next mass.
One day when Cecilia and her dad were leaving mass, they ran into a group of soldiers and they were about to arrest them, but then 2 soldiers, Tiberius and Jacob, rescued them.  They both knew that Cecilia and her dad were catholic so they decided to arrest her in one condition: If Cecilia's dad gave Jacob's permission to marry her.  But her father didn't want Jacob marrying her because he wasn't catholic. So they arranged a meeting for Jacob so he can get baptized and then get married.  On the day of the meeting Jacob got baptized and married Cecilia.  But during that night a group of soldiers found Jacob and Cecilia and Cecilia got captured.
So Cecilia was scheduled for execution.  When she was getting ready for the beheading she was singing a little prayer and when the executioner was attempting to behead her she didn't die was beheaded.  She only got a severe scratch on her neck and then he tried to attempt to behead her 2 more times and still she only got severe scratches on her neck.  So all the executioner could do was to let her go because the law says that the executioner can only have three tries or else they have to let the prisoner go.  Later on Catholicism was allowed to be apart of the Roman community because of the miracle that St. Cecilia did.
 Answer Paragraph for Questions
In class I was listening to 2 glory stories, one about St. Cecilia and the other about St. Kateri Tekawitha. What I learned about St. Cecilia and St. Kateri Tekawitha is that one option you can do when you're living through tough times is to pray.  3 similarities between these Christian Martyrs are: they're both saints, they're both catholic, and they both performed a miracle.  3 differences between these Christian Martyrs are: St. Cecilia was a Roman and St. Kateri Tekawitha was a Mohawk, St. Kateri Tekawitha wanted to become a catholic and St. Cecilia was already a catholic, and St. Kateri Tekawitha was the daughter of the Mohawk leader and St. Cecilia was the daughter of a regular Roman native.  St. Cecilia lived her life happily after she got axed 3 times to the neck and didn't die because after that miracle the Roman community allowed Catholicism into one of their religious faiths.  St. Kateri Tekawitha escaped from her home to go explore the amazing facts about Catholicism because she didn't want to live the way of life that her dad lived.  So overall these glory stories were great to hear because it taught me how to deal with difficult times and some facts about how my religious faith spread around the world.
