Soul of a Saint

St. Cecilia was a Christian martyr. She was a women who believed in God an Jesus our saviour. She wouldn't give up her religion because people didn't except Catholics. She knew God would protect her from the evil of others that do not stand by him. Cecilia and her husband were both Catholics an both died standing by their Christian faith. She was a noble women of Rome with her husband Valerian under the Emperor Alexander Severus.  Her brother an husband were both executed because of their religion. It would have been easy for them to say no I'm not Christian but the easy way out isn't always the best way. They stood by their faith but died by doing so. The next St. Cecilia was to follow in their footsteps. She was arrested on her way to the burial of her husband an brother.  Soldiers were told to take her an kill her because she was Catholic. She had to hide her religion her whole entire life, but this time was not the one to stand down to the soldiers that did not believe in God. She didn't fight back, but she sang a song of God. Right when they arrested her she began to sing her song. Her voice was beautiful an loud. She sang while they attempted to murder her. She sang louder an louder as they slammed her neck with an axe as hard as they could. When they moved the axe away from her neck all they could see was tiny scratch on her neck no blood no cut. They hit her two more times expecting her head to come rolling off but it did not. God had protected her while she sang a song of God.  She stayed alive for 3 days after the horrible event. She then pasted on as a inspirational spirit of the Lord. I learned that no matter the consequence they stood by their faith. They were noble women of God even though they had to hide their religion most of their lives they stood by it when it got tough. They didn't give up on God they knew he would protect them. He protected them when they were both arrested an set to be murdered. They are similar for the reasons they pasted on. They were both young Christians. They both were very very religious. They both had to hide their religions. They are different because they are not from the same place. They weren't murdered by the same things. Something remarkable about St. Cecilia  is that she didn't die when they attempted to chop her head off. They hit her neck 3 times with an axe an her head didn't come off because god protected her.
