St. Cecelia

St. Cecelia was a Christian martyr. They had to hide from people because they would kill all of the Christians. The Christians would celebrate mass in a cave so that no one could find them. One day soldiers found Cecelia and her father paying their respects to those who died. Cecelia was forced to marry Valerian or be taken away by the soldiers. Cecelia's dad did not want her to get married but she said that it was ok and that she would always have her angel's guidance. When St. Cecelia was beheaded, as they were going to cut her head off she began to sing. They kept on hitting an axe across her neck but all that it left were scars.

          I learned that Christians were treated unfairly. They couldn't speak out to people that they were Catholics otherwise they would be killed because of their faith. I think it is remarkable that they would risk their lives for their faith and for God. They were different because St. Cecelia was born a catholic while St. Kateri Tekawitha became a Catholic. Another difference is that St. Kateri Tekawitha was adopted but St. Cecelia was not. They are similar because they were both forced into marriage and they both were killed because of what they believed in.
